Well, it was fun while it lasted...

I sold my Maxima on Sunday because the tranny took a turn for the worst. I sold it to a mechanic that said he had another 4AT laying around that he's planning on putting in.

Yesterday I picked up this '95 BMW 325is. The previous owner (who is a BMW certified mechanic) swapped in a 1998 M3 motor (S52) along with an M3 tranny and 3.23 limited slip diff. The car also has coilovers, an intake and Borla catback exhaust, and a ceramic 6 puck clutch along with a lightweight flywheel. And yeah, the paint on the sideskirts will be touched up soon.

Maximas will always hold a special place in my heart, but RWD is just so much more fun! I'll still come back and visit once in a while.

I did consider a mint black on black 6MT 5.5 gen though, but the price was a little too mint too haha

Last picture before I sold it in October...

...to buy this

Nice. rare color. I wonder why he went with an S52 instead of an S50? 1995s are OBD1...

EDIT: BTW, I have an M50 intake manifold and an 18 button on board computer if you don't have them (shameless plug)

^ I'm not sure if the guy did the manifold swap or not. How can you tell which one you have? Not sure why he put an S52 in either, but he said he converted it to OBD1 and the car passed emissions last week. And thanks, but the on board computer works perfectly, surprisingly.

^ Thanks. I'm thinking of converting it to an M3 though. The bumpers and sideskirts are kinda beat up anyway.

Nice ride.
You will be surprised when you seen the cost of German parts compared to Japanese parts, but that goes with the package.

Thanks. I don't mind buying a pre-modded car. It saves you having to make excuses to buy aftermarket parts.

I know. But the engine, tranny, differential, and suspension in my car only have 40,000 miles, so that should buy me some time.

Honestly, I'd keep it as low key as possible and debadge it too. I'd also go with a simple 5 spoke wheel design because those wheels will be a huge b!tch to keep clean.

No, I wasn't tired of my Maxima at all. My tranny was on its last legs and I would have had to spend about $1,000 for a remanufactured tranny and installation. And even then, I'd still be stuck with a 4AT... This car ended up costing me half that.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on selling it. I was actually thinking of doing a 6MT swap, but the tranny had a different idea.

From the specs and the pictures, I think you stepped up.

'course, now you're going to be looking around for a decent BMW forum.

Yeah, I was shifting pretty slow. I need new shifter bushings and I'm still getting used to the heaviness of the ceramic clutch. It's also my first manual car.

^ I guess technically, yes the body has 240,000 miles on it. All the drivetrain components (engine, tranny, driveshaft, LSD rear end) have 42,000 miles on them. All the suspension components (coilovers, control arms, bushings) have 10,000 miles on them. All in all, it feels like a new car.

Fiyer!!! Gotta love a bug-eye Rex, but I personally love the 06-07 look the best of all of them. I've owned 2 05 Legacy GT 5-speeds, one sedan and one wagon. You're like me, you don't keep cars very long...lol!

True, but I never plan on selling them so soon lol. The BMW was great until I got into a little fender bender back in April. After that, it became a monetary black hole as one system after the other failed. I soon found out why; the body shop that insurance sent my car to was recently on the local news because the owner would "fix" cars and then damage other parts to keep you coming back. I'm pretty sure he ran it with no oil at some point, because it began doing this:
