Bra..

Hello all,

I have a 2001 Maxi SE and I want to get a cover/bra for the front of it. Its Sterling Mist and its still in good shape since I got the car in July. I was wondering what places I can order a good cover for either a full cover or a 1/2 cover??

Also, would you prefer just the 1/2 or the full? comments are appreciated.

thanks!

Andrew

Go with the 3M clear bra. I'm getting it installed on my Sterling Mist 2001 SE after Christmas. You can order and install it yourself from http://www.xpel.com or get it installed professionally. I am getting it installed professionally because I've been told that it is difficult to install.

i have a hod protector. "magnet bra"
it is really nice. it is basically a sheet of magnet fitted like a hood protector. it seals to your hood to keep out mositure and debris.

Once again, get the 3M clear bra...it looks neither gay nor stupid.

sorry dont have the pic, but remember someone on the .org has it.

Right, 3M clear is a good way to protect, but I'd even put on a full mask on top of that. Protect your car while it is new.

Well check it.. i just got the 3m Clear bra put on and it looks good. Moderatley priced, but ok.

The other bras, leather, etc, is not good becuase when you put on a bra, how is it put on? with tension and pressure. so where is the wear? on the edges... give it a few years and take the bra off.. you'll see the wear on your hood, etc..wherever the stress points are.

Also, the black bra has to be removed every time it rains or when dirt gets under it. It is no good for water and dirt to get under the black bra. The dirt will act as sandpaper.

Did you put the 3M clear bra on yourself or did you have it professionally installed?

I'm going to have a local window tint installer order the 3M clear bra for my car tomorrow. I've had my Max for only 5600 miles. When I washed my car tonight, I noticed 6 small chips on the hood and a few on the front bumper. Nissan paint sucks.

Dude, i had the thing professionally installed. That took them 6 hours or so. They did the front hood, bumper, the front wings and the bottom spoiler. Plus mine was custom becuase i had that bumper strip on the front of the bumper... not too bad. I'm in Lond Island, NY if you want to get advice on an installer

I will be getting the 3M clear bra installed as soon as my installer can do it. I've seen pictures of it here on the .org. It is nearly invisible and is supposed to be very durable. Doesn't have to be removed to wash or wax (treat it just like the surface of your car). I had a Nissan full bra on my 91 SE and it would leave a mark across the hood and it was a pain to take off whenever I washed it. Also with 3M, you can get just the hood protection or the full front bumper, hood and headlights. 3M would be my recommendation even if is a little more expensive. Worth it to protect a great car, imo.

yeah but no aftermarket ones looks better than nissan bra and besides it fits exact fit...think about it. i know it's a pain to remove and put on, but you will be ok once you get used to it

It's no bra nor film but it works for me, got it for around $20 on EBay. If you can't afford anything else at this point it's worth a try.

Some tint or detail shops will install it. You can order from www.xpel.com and try installing the film yourself.
