I do, but don't have a photo of it installed. I only use it in the summer.

If you don't want to ruin its beauty, there is only one way to go. The 3M invisible bra works wonders.

Ditto on the clear bra. Mine is applied in this pic.

My friend who owns a bodyshop would LOVE to see you put a fabric bra on it.

I've used them for years and never had an issue, but then again, it gets removed if it rains, once a week for cleaning and dusting, another wax coat, etc.

If installed wrong/loosly, left on when wet, dusty, dirty, etc, it WILL eat your paint. Sure, it'll take time to eat thru it, but it will. Same reason I never, EVER, go thru a drive-thru car wash that has brushes of any kind.

My neighbor's black car has one of the clearbra's. He's had it for over 3 years now and it's HIGHLY noticeable now. Sunfaded and somewhat brittle. When looking at it, it's a greyish color which stands out against the black. Florida sun kills everything, including tourists if you're in it long enough....

From my experience, there IS no perfect solution other than not driving it.

I have had the clear bra on three vehicles so far and have not had any problems, but then I have not had them on black cars. The Altima I had before the Max was five years old and showed no signs of fading, it looked like it had just been installed. However it was in a garage when it was not on the road, really cutting down on the UV effects on it.

My last clear bra was on an 05 Maxima that was deep metallic blue. Looked the same on the day I traded it as when it was new - 5+ years.

The garage is the key. When I worked full-time, and had my car sitting in full sun in downtown Atlanta as long as 70 hours a week, everything was always fried, 'brittilized', and faded. Now that I am retired, and the car is in an insulated garage when not in use, everything stays 'showroom fresh' year after year.

My garage is a car cover. It helps. 1000x better than nothing, but not as good as a real garage.

i have the nissan maxima leather bra on my car and my friend does also.
i had had them on all my car. it saves the front end from a ton of rock chips etc.
my wife also has it on her car and she uses it all year long, not a single scratch on any of my car over the years even thru the rough winters her in MA..
JUST take the bra off weekly or every 2 weeks when u clean the car and you will never have a problem. The clear bra is great but too expensive.

Got quoted $600 for a Clearbra install a couple weeks ago. This was for the "plus" install.

What are some of the prices being paid for this type of installation?

I have contacted about 10 places here in the Seattle area and quotes for a full kit (hood, bumper, headlights/fogs, back of mirrors, door edges, fenders) seem to run $550-950 depending on the place. Most places use either 3M or Ventureshield (which is actually owned by 3M) and $600 seems about average pricing.

I'm not a fan of the leather bras. I like the fact that they keep the front protected, but I just hate the way they look. The clear bras are probably the way to go.

I hate the dirt build up between the bra and the paint which leaves some nice friction scratches/etc. That invisible bra is the ****

That is probably something that you would have to talk to the shop about. They should be able to custom fit that for you, but it would cost more for them to do it for you. Here are a couple other pics with the clear bra. This was on my old Maxima. Excuse the crappy pics. They were taken back in '09 with my old Moto Droid, haha...

Didn't go with it on my new Maxima. I am debating on this choice of mine not to (sitting at 9k miles currently)...

here is a couple pics. personally i love the leather bra. i have used them on every car ive owned and never had any paint issues etc..
ive seen more problem with 3m and other brands of clear bra stuff, and they cost alot more. Once those chip and they do, they look like terrible.
To each there own tho..they now make the leather bra in carbon fiber also.

Meh... I'll pass on the leather bra. Looks too '80's for me. Just throw on some curb feelers and they'll be set!

whit - The bra is a matter of personal taste. To each his own. I must say I kinda like your leather bra.

But there is no question that, forgettting about the bra for a sec, your car looks very nice. Thanks for sharing.
