So I gotta new maf today.... Not good... Its even worse than ever... Ocasionally stalls, no power, hesitates, why is this happening? I know. Your supposed to reprogram the maf but would not reprogramming the ecu. Cause this . Or did I get a bad maf

You don't need to reflash the ECU when a new MAF is installed. The car will automatically "re-learn" and adjust to the new MAF in a drive cycle or two. At least mine did when I put the new MAF on my car.

I'd chalk it up to a lemon MAF. Take it back and get it replaced. If the third MAF doesn't work, you might have a bad connection somewhere.

You sure maf is connected, it sounds like how the car runs when the maf is disconnected.

No I pulled it from the plug, I even unplugged it to run it. With the maf disconnected it ran the same but wouldn't go above 2500 rpm befor with my other maf unplugged it ran fine but wouldn't go past 2500. I don't get it no lines we're disconnected all I did was unbolt the air box pull it out and bolt the new maf sensor and Housing and bolted it back up. It was starting really quick to at least when it was hot. Looks like I'm not going to work tomorrow

Did you get one of those cheap ones from ebay? B/c some of the sellers are idiots.

Best to get an OEM one.

Lack of a thermistor wouldn't make it run THAT bad.

No I got a nissan maf. its not the maf because if I unplug it it still runs horrible, with my other maf I could unplug it and it ran ok but wouldn't go above 2500. There is something horribly wrong.. I'm going to go crazy, its a 2000 so no thermister swap. Everything looks normal no light, I haven't checked for pending codes cuz I don't have a code reader, I just unplugged my batt for the night ill see what happens tomorrow,

Unmetered air somewhere? Did you check all the connections on your airbox?

hmmm. perhaps i had a bad one. The 2k plugged straight in made mine cut off three times enroute to returning it to napa and i had to keep it floored. Ran strong on the freeway though., either way glad to see you got it fixed.

Dude, I'm really starting to feel bad about your problems with the Max. You may need the help of a psychiatrist before you get the car fixed. Good luck and keep trying. You'll figure it out

i know!!!!! im going crazy with this car!!! i love it but im losing my mind over this. i just want it to start and run properly....

i dont understand why its worse when its cold, and why it only bugs out under 2000 rpm. sometimes if i slow down for a light and it turns green befor i fully stop and accelerate again i get this huge delay between shifts. its all pointing to the maf because i heared they will bugger up downshifting as well.... i dunno i have kinda learned to deal driving it the way it is. but i still wanna find out whats wrong with it and ive already done so much!
