I'm flush w/ 20mm spacers in the back, but I've got 00-01 17" SE's, which I believe are ever so slightly different than 02-03's w/ clearance.

I'm assuming you're referring to s1mply_v, and he had spacers on when he had the SE-Rs.

I'd go with a servos enjoy rpf1 18x8.5 and they only weigh 18.3 lbs! Bang for buck best wheel out there imo

Yeah, great bang for buck with RPF1's... But still way too expensive for me.

I believe LA02MAX had 20mm spacers in the rear. I have 15, and it looks fairly cool to be on stock wheels. and I have 10mm in front, I should shoot some picatarz.

But search and see if you could find LA's max, I liked the way it looked.

Most quality spacers will come with an extra set of lugs. My H&R spacer did, even the 5mm.

If it's not to much trouble, you should post some pics on this thread w/ the spacers

Ditto that.

Spacers w/new lugs on stock SE 17" rims... I'm kind of curious now, too.

So, our friendly, diminutive moderator recommends 10mm fronts and 15mm rears on OEM 5.5 gen SE rims.

Hmm... http://www.trakplus.com/

Hey, Manny, did you notice a change +/- in the overall handling on your Max when adding these spacers?

On a related note, wouldn't this be like adding weight to your rims? When the smart thing is to use lightweight wheels.

yea i think 10mm, some dont come as a bolt on..but 15mm and up they come as a bolt on spacer....as far as spacer for the rear...im guessing about a 20/25mm spacer

That big for the rear?? Nmex said he has 15mm's but saw pics of someone's car w/ 20mm spacers in the back. That wouldn't make the tires rub if the car's lowered on coilovers, would it?

since you have an 02...your wheel specs are 17x7 +40 offset...

so if you do a 15mm spacer...you have an effective +25 offset on your wheels...

if you do a 20mm spacer you have an effective +20 offset on your wheels...

so on and so forth. i want to see pics of spacers on these cars as well. i kinda want to get some spacers for the rear...but i'm almost leaning against it now...i think id rather slam it on stock wheels and just leave the flush/poke for aftermarket wheels

nemax, when you used the 5mm spacers, did the lip from the original hub lip still poke out? because no 5mm spacers have that intergrated lip like most spacers greater than 10mm.
you need this lip for hubcentric ring adapters with most aftermarket wheels, and i wish i could measure the hub lip to see but we have 18" of snow !

they are for the 00-01s. teh 02-03s are +40, hence why with the 04-08 maxima front brake upgrade, theres no need for spacers with the 02-03 wheels

Yeah, I'll probably do this (at least at first). There's a local show in the summer for dropped vehicles and I want to be ready for then. (coilovers, gloss black powdercoated wheels, really clean engine bay with FSTB for looks, etc.)

Which sizes, Joel... NmexMax's recommendation of 10mm front and 15mm rear?

And which brand... H&R?

Honestly, I'm kind of weary at the moment to research wheel spacers, and am just watching you to make an assessment.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with Nmex's recommendation. And from what I can tell, H&R seem to be the way to go.

I'm not sure yet, but I might wait til coilovers are installed and go from there. That way I can measure the mm gap myself and judge whether I want 15 or 20mm in the back, etc. Seems to be the wisest route IMO. If all goes according to plan, that should be in May or June.

i've got 19x8.5 +29 on Tein SS's with rolled/tugged rear fenders. You can see the top of my tire from the side and if I hit a bump hard enough or have 4 people in the car, i still rub.

Ooo, yeah, there's something about the SERs that's just nice... even if you have to use spacers.

Yeah, that's a nice setup. What width are the tires you're running on those 8.5's? 225?

Figuring out how much of a spacer you need is not hard. Get a yard stick and a metric ruler, go outside and figure it out. Then go buy the applicable spacer size.

Why wait? It's not going to change your measurement if you're using the same rims.

True, but it'll be easier to determine the appropriate spacer size when the car is dropped. Or so I thought?

I don't see why. Whether your height changes or not, the offset is a constant.

You should do the wheel spacers now. It's a far less expensive objective, and gives you something to do while you're waiting and saving on your larger plans.

YOU just want to see how spacers work out with stock wheels/stock ride height.

too expensive? and yet you bought exhaust products from cattman?

Save your pennies and get proper wheels instead of buying wheels that you really dont like but purchased because you really wanted wheels.
