Honk when locking doors...

Hi all,

Last night, my car keys were on my driver seat, and I sat on them while the driver side door was still opened. I must have done some kind of combination with my butt cheeks on the remote because now, when I lock the doors of my Max using the key fob, the horn doesn’t do the sound to let me know my doors are locked anymore. I still get the blinking lights, and all 4 doors lock correctly but no sound… Does anyone know how to set it back to normal?

Thanks,

Press and hold the lock & unlock button for a few seconds, should go back to the way it was. Do the same to switch back.

The only thing we get (4 & 5.5) that the 5.0's is the rolling down windows deal.

Sux. A honk upon arming would give me a bit more peace of mind....especially where I live and me being limited to parking on the street now...

It should just the way you did in your 4th gen. Hold the unlock button down.

As if they just blanked us (5th gens) on that feature then brought it back. I'm actually pretty upset about this

I'm pretty sure it won't won't work. But someone came up with a mod where you add a relay and a buzzer or beeper or whatever into the circuit that blinks the light and it would sound that way.

the only time i set mine to honk is if im gonna park in a crowded parking lot where i may lose my car. sucks we cant panic the car without damaging the headlights :/

other than that, the honk is annoying. i do however wish we could set (without consult) it to blink 2 times on lock, and 1 time on unlock. pretty sure it can, but dealer has to activate the other 4 modes

How do you damage the headlights? Pretty sure the hi beams are the panic lights.

Mine does it the way you state. for lock & unlock.

im almost positive that for the high beams to come on, the low's have to have power. COULD be wrong. i know when i flash my highbeams during the day, my HID's strike. i'd like to find a way to run the alarm to just the high beams. ima test this when i get out to my car and hope you're right.

yours blinks once on unlock and once on lock, no honk?

No that's not true. Not sure where you got the impression that the alarm would harm the headlights????

But it makes no viable sense.
