Stillen Front Lip Spoiler- To paint or not?

Ok well my daughter rearended another car yesteday and car needs a new front bumper cover, hood, right front fender and headlight. So I gues now is as good a time to get it done. I was going to wait till April first but?
Car is still drivable, so not in any super hurry.
It looks like the only and cheapest place to order the spoiler is from Stillen direct. The question is should I have it painted the same color (Silver) as the car or should I leave it black? I am leaning towards getting it painted as the Spolier I have on it now is black and was really for the 00-01 Maximas. Thoughts please.

Good Lord, if it were me she would have been done after rear-ending somebody the first time. Stop letting her drive your Maxima and treat it like crap, man. It deserves better than that. Rear-end collisions are usually a result of poor judgment and almost always avoidable.

I think he just meant hit another car on the road, not ANOTHER car.

Teach this girl to drive, then do the repairs. I'm with Waxima, hitting someone from behind is 98% of the time the person's fault in the rear (your daughter, in this case), it can always be avoided.

And when you do the lip, yes, paint it.

I guess I should have phrased it better. I did'nt mean another car meaning plural. She's been driving the car for 2 years and this is the first fender bender she's gotten into. But I still was not happy. There goes my tax return money!!
She really drives like me too fast, but unfortunately does not have the experience.
And the car is hers not mine. Gave her the car figuring it was 7 years old and bought my wife a new car. And I still drive the 1997 4Runner that is my baby.

Definitely paint it. Though I did run into a guy that had a silver Max with a black lip (painted if you can believe it) and I was a bit surprised it didn't look terrible. But it did look ghetto.

[rant=tcb_02_max] Something is not right here. If it is her car - which she paid $0 for - and she was driving, why do you have to fix it? According to my math, she is at least 18 years old, right? If she is old enough to drive, she is old enough to pay for her mistakes! When I hit the curb high school with my VW (which I helped buy...), I had to pay for the broken tie-rod+repairs and I had to drive it around with a bent rim. It was not fun at 70+ mph! You better bet I never pulled the handbrake going around a corner again, at least not on a narrow street. She won't learn to drive more slowly and carefully if daddy is always there to pay for her mistakes...[/rant]

EDIT: I would also suggest painting it to match the body color.

Guys, the OP isn't looking or advice on on family matters. He's just wondering whether or not to paint the lip. Lay off, for crying out loud.

I think you should paint it. Unless there are other visual mods to complement a flat-black lip, and a supporting color scheme, it will look very much out of place, IMO.

Paint it, unpainted always looks out of place no matter what "theme" someone is going for.

Got the estimate from insurance and they figured $2,600 with my $200 deductable.
So I went to my body guy and I told him I wanted the front spoiler I bought added to the car and color matched and he is also going to fix 2 digs the car has on the driver side fender. He's not going to charge me for the extras he's doing for me.
They are replacing the front bumper cover and the hood along with the headlight.
The passenger front fender can be repaired and blended. Pretty much what I expected.

Update. Called the body shop today and the guy told me that the Insurance lady was an A-Hole. The $2,600 quote was for a used bumper cover a used hood and a used headlight. Did not include the foam pc behind the bumper which was also damaged.
He said he knows the guys at the junk yards the insurance lady told him to get the parts and they told him the parts were crap and to order new replacement parts. He also said he found a new head light for $400 over the used one she said was the same price. So he's waiting on the new parts to come in and that I would be getting an additional check from the insurance company for $1,700.
Man I guess they were right in saying Nissan parts are expensive.

Front ends are very expensive. The headlights alone are over $1000 retail on the 02/03.

That's cause they're HID though.

Always consider the accents and direction you are taking your car. Also stop letting your daughter drive your car. Get her something like a Bronco, cheap to buy, doesn't have good mileage (Keeps her closer to home) cheap to insure and they are bus proof.
