I went to change my oil today and always get a oem filter for my car I looked at the filter quick put it on and didn't think anything of it until I liked at the box it says it's for the 3.0 not the 3.5 motor. I looked and it is a little bigger I didn't want to put the old one back on after changing the oil and left the 3.0 filter on. Will this do any damage to the motor at all the dealer is around the corner from my work it's about 7 miles from home I'm just going to go get 3.5 filters tomorrow since I buy them 5 at a time I know with vws we used slightly larger filters to hold extra oil and it didn't do damage I assume this is the same but wanted to find out before I drive it

You'll be okay.....many people prefer using the larger filter from the 3.0L engine.....if anything you will have cleaner oil a bit longer.....lol

 

Haha true, I only do 3k miles between oil changes and use synthetic I'm bothy suv and car.
