I will be checking the hoses and clamps as soon as I get a chance. I am hoping its not the water pump. I helped a friend with his, It was time consuming and we were both scared we were going to drop a bolt or washer lol. If it is the water pump I am going to change out the tensor... My buddy was cheap and didn't change his but it makes no sense to do all that work and leave it. That being said, I hope its a simple fix.

there is a leak right where the clamp is on my radiator hose that connects to the motor near the water pump. On the bottom side you can see it with the mirror, but when I wipe it off it barley comes back. Which makes me think its the only leak since I have only lost about half a cup of antifreeze since we got the car and it only smells every once in a while. I am going to replace it and get new clamps.

It is the lower radiator hose. The upper is on the driver side.

I am going to pick up the hose and clamps on my way home today. How much coolant will leak out? I have a 10 qt catch but I just need to know how much coolant to buy if anyone has an idea?

Good time to replace the coolant, no? A gallon jug mixed 50/50 with distilled water will be more than enough to replace it.

I am such a cotten headed ninny muggens! I freaking got an upper hose... Even though i knew as soon as I looked at it I needed the other hose... Oh well I went back and got the lower hose and will change out both at the same time... I got a gallon of coolant and I have about 1/3rd of a gallon in the garage. I think it will be enough.

Well, hose is replaced along with a clamp on another hose that was giving me troubles.

I did notice that around the water pump and the other plate on the timing chain cover it has RTV sealant, I am assuming they changed or attempted to change the water pump or chain tensor?
