Idle problem when engine is warm

Ok guys,

So when I start the car for the first time of the day, when the engine is cold, everything is ok, the idle is good. But, after half of hour, if I start the car again, the car start and shut down. I have to push the gas pedal a little bit while I start to run the car and the idle is really low. Also, when I run on the highway, if I push the car hard and hit the clutch pedal, the car shut down. I already try the idle relearn but nothing. the car is running rich because it's smell gas when the engine is hot. Please someone help...

My bet would be on a dirty throttle body. I had a very similar problem.

If you decide to clean it, make sure you're careful and don't move the plate yourself (instead put the ignition to ON, and have someone step on the gas pedal to keep the plate open... or put a brick on it or something).

There is many threads on here about cleaning the throttle body in our cars (which are drive by wire).... and it's a bit of a controversial topic.

Read the throttle body thread, follow the directions to the letter and that should solve you problem.

Just out of curiosity, are you still running the stock flywheel, or an aluminum aftermarket one? I have the same car and the same issue. I always thought it was because of the lighter flywheel I had installed a couple years ago (not as much momentum), coupled with the fact that the stock spark plugs are still in there after 119K mi. I am changing the plugs next weekend, but I was planning on leaving the TB alone. Maybe I should reconsider...

Changing plugs? This should help you:

Have the link to the site with a good write-up on changing plugs in that thread. Definitely get the 6th gen rear valve cover when you get the intake manifold gasket.

Yes I saw your recent thread. I am driving over to my buddy's house next Saturday and he's going to help me with the job. He recently changed plugs on an 03 Altima VQ35.

But back to the OP, I am still curious if he has an aluminum flywheel.
