basically on a cold start i get this screeching noise that last anywhere to 1-2 seconds
i dont see a difference in performance (possibly fuel economy have to see how many miles i get to the tank, but i only drive on weekends)

99.99% is a belt issue. 0.01% a bearing issue. Get the belt checked, tightened, and/or replaced. If screeching is still there, then you have a bearing issue with the alternator or possibly A/C compressor.
Starters dont make those noises bet i had the same problem before it came out the me the ac/compresser belt but can also possibly be the Timing Belt hope not thou its a lil pricey to fix. the ac belt is about 20 bucks like the ac delco brand
Maximas do not have a timing belt...it is a timing chain and they do not squeal, they rattle.
hey so ive been reading on how to do it and people said its easier to take the wheel off to change the belt

is it similar to this (this guy is changing it on an altima)
thanks
