350Z Dead Pedal

I need this in my life! Who has done the 350Z dead pedal install on their Max?

Maybe I'm just not searching hard enough. I found the install for the 4th Gen, but I'm not running with that.

Let me know ASAP!

I've got it on mine. Pretty straight-forward mod.

Coincidentally, I just took it apart the other night, and polished the winter off the metal.

Here's a picture from when I installed it, along with the other pedal pads. Because I don't actually have HLSD. I'm faking it with the pedals.

Preciate it!

Rochester...was it a PITA to do. I looked at the link Deckdout2 gave me and it's very similar to the one I saw in a 4th Gen thread. The only difference is, they cut that plastic piece all the way down.

So, needless to say...I'm debating how I want to do it now...

Those pedals came on the 2001 AE, and on the 2002-2003 SE 6MT w/HLSD. So if you have them, but don't have HLSD, then someone installed the pedals after the fact... just like I did.

That's always been my understanding. I suppose I could be mistaken somewhere. For example, MerlotMax has the aluminum pedal pads, and he quite conspicuously is missing a 3rd pedal.

i thought the "pedal>LSD" thing was about as true as the "steering wheel stitching>LSD" rumor

There's always the firewall verification method.

Unless you had a real ambitious previous owner and they installed it on their own.

Canadian AE's did not come with the body kit but do have every thing else (ie - LSD). I do almost all my driving in town and found the autotragic easier to live with. Plus if my wife needs to use it, she would not be able with a manual (hey wait a minute )

Oh, right, MerlotMax's Max is an AE... hence the aluminum pedals. My bad.

But the mix-up was worth it, seeing Merlot come to the defense of his AT.

I hate being wrong, but in this case I'll make an exception.

Plus if my wife needs to use it, she would not be able with a manual (hey wait a minute )[/quote]

Having a 6MT and a wife who cant drive it, can be good and bad. Good in that, if she can't drive it...she won't use all your gas (like mine does- fortunately she never gets on the org), and two she won't jack up your gears and rip out your clutch while driving it! But bad in that, if she wants to learn, YOU have to endure while you teach her. And these things end up happening anyway!

Can do the same with a 02-03 Max. Just prefer the 01 AE. For the few times she drives it - not a big deal.

Your wife not being able to drive your car is a win-win situation. My wife has no business driving my car. I've seen how she drives hers. No thank you.
