steering rack leaking or some hose? pics included

hard to tell I know form the pics but wanted to get some input noticed some fluid on the ground and the reservoir was low.

Check your power steering pump and hose. That is definetly ps fluid.

ya I have to get under the car again. i am hoping its the hose! scares me that the fluid is on the rack though.

that's definitely your hose, but don't get to happy because you still have to drop $130 for it... good luck

Yea that's most likely the hose. Mine look the same way when it was leaking, scared the crap out of me. I thought it was the rack.

Where does the hose normally leak I havent looked yet but want to know what area I should be looking at in specific

They usually leak underneath that black foamy/rubber covering, it drips down onto those parts. Once you remove the old one pull part of that cover off and you will see tons of fluid in their!

haha sounds good. Ill try tracing the hose, not sure exactly what cover you are reffering too but im sure it cant be too hard to find.

Open your hood and near the left rear of the engine you will see the top portion of the Power steering Hose and you will see part of the black/foamy rubber portion of it that I am referring to.

right rear of engine if your in the car...

replaced that hose on both 3rd gen and 5.5...

wasnt to pricey....
