How to clean maf?

Ived read in threads that some ppl clean their maf sensor with CNC maf cleaner, but I cant find how one is supposed to apply or use the product. Does one spray it onto the sensor from the outside or from the inside of the intake when the engine is running etc...?

I just basically spray the holy hell out of it from all angles trying to avoid the o-ring as much as possible.
