Transmission Messed up

My Tranny just went out on my 2000 Maxima... I have 42,000 miles on it, would the warranty cover it at all?

I noticed the transmission was slipping a little this morning before work... when I got off of work I noticed the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light came on, i got on the highway and pushed the gas a little and the car wouldn't go past 3000 RPMS, but it would still drive... I got home and put it in the garage and tried to put it in reverse and it wouldn't move anywhere. So now I guess I have to wait a couple of days and call Nissan.

hell yeah i went through that twice, i suggest you take off all your mods before you go in, they will blame the mods regardless what you say. Also try to get the new TCM and solenoids with the new tranny, im pretty sure you will get a new tranny thats if you grinded the gears.

Yea... the dealership didn't even argue with me on anything about my transmission, they called me today and told me that they are putting a new transmission in mine. I asked them if they could maybe swap to a manual tranny, but they said that they couldn't do it b/c the computer is programmed differently or something. I just don't trust Nissan automatic transmissions anymore, b/c I owned an Altima before this and the tranny messed up in it too.
