P0325 already replaced/bypassed KS

Hey guys,

A while back I replaced my KS. I can't remember whether the code was still on. I checked again for codes a couple of days ago and I'm still getting the P0325. I went to Radioshack and got some resistors and plugged them into the connector. I thought I had noticed a power gain, but the code is still on. What else could it be?

after replacing it, did you reset the ECU or clear the code?

yeah I did both. I also replaced the harness while i was at it. I did the same when I stuck the resistors in. Code comes up right after turning the car on.

that wouldn't explain why the error code would still pop up when a resistor w/ the proper resistance is put into the plug, thus simulating a working KS...

What part # from radio shack and what resistance are you using? Are you guys 470k like us 4th genners?

IIRC there are 2 diffrent 470k resistors that radio shack use to carry(some may still have)

Simulating is a strong word. It's only showing 1 resistance and KS's can range depending on conditions whether it's load, ambient air temp, intake air temp, etc. Also, a resistor is a simple device, a KS really isn't (by definition anyways).

It probably just went outside of the envelope of what the ECU was looking for and may have tripped it and now it's stored or maybe a bad connection.

Well the FSM says the resistance is 500-620 kOhms. I put two resistors together. THe gold band 470kOhms + 100kOhms. I just replaced the KS and the harness in September and have run 93 octane since then.

I reset the ECU after changing the KS and just after putting the resistors and the code still exists
