Interesting, but I think you're gonna find out it won't work without a active dealer/mechanic subscription from Nissan.

i was reading the post from the link you provided and when i installed it for the nissan service center. i had installed it on the same computer they use for emissions and inspection.i also installed nissan fast 2011 and all this wasnt on a toughbook it was on a HP desktop that was purchasd at best buy although i did have to downgrade it to windows xp to get the software to install.on the install note you have to load the drivers for the adapter first before the software install.

I know, but in order for the software to work, the computer it's loaded on has to be registered with Nissan. Software is fairly easy to come by, but it's useless without it being activated.

lol. Someone gonna call a bail bondsman first? I'm thinking Nissan would not like some shmuck using their software illegally.

From their website, it looks like Consult III is only for 2007 models or newer.

Consult 3 won't work on 5th gens, they require the consult 2.

Consult 3 software assuming it is the ACTUAL cd will only install and work on certain toshiba toughbook laptops. You also require a key which is specific to the dealer code to work.

After that, you still need the VI to connect to the car and MI if want to use the oscillioscope feature.

You can use the consult 3 on the 5th gens, but it has limited capabilites. It only really works well on 07+ stuff, and consult 3 plus on the 2011 quest.

Your best off buying a used Consult 2. Just make sure if you buy one it comes with a NATS card because on their own your looking at $500.
