Pass Front Window Reverses Direction on close
Pass Front Window Reverses Direction on close
I have a 2003 GLE and when I shut my left front passenger window it goes up to the top then reverses direction and goes down automatically. There must be some type of limit switch problem . The only way I can close it is to carefully pull the window switch up in shot jabs.

Thank you still trying to see switch
Tall Tom,
Thanks. I found the other article but without the pictures.
I have the door open now, but still don't clearly see the switch.
Let me look some more.

Did look at links and pictures
Tom,
I did look at the links and read all 3 pages. Unfortunately the picture is misleading, or is hard to place looking at the vapor barrier. The switch is actually next the the "R" in "FR" on the vapor barrier, diagonally between the speaker and the inside door latch release. Looking at the picture, I thought it was below the door handle release, which it is not. I had to remove the whole inner panel to see it clearly. Fortunately, I did not crack anything removing the panel.
I got it reset, though I noted the motor does move the glass up slowly closing the window. I wonder if the rails need to be greased.

took a minute, but got it.
Just did this on my '03 I-35 (passenger side). The switch is lower and more forward than I thought from looking at the driver side pictures. A flashlight helped and feeling in by hand helped find it. Seems to be working ok on several auto up/down cycles today. Thanks for the links and recommendations.
