2001 Maxima - Strange sound with light rev around 1000 rpm (video)

Just noticed this noise recently, was wondering if it was something normal or not. All maintenance is up to date.

listen just when it leaves and returns to idle...

Can't tell if that's something normal or not... (The SES light is for catalytic converter last I checked)

Thanks!

That's the IACV, I do believe. Mine (a '00) makes exactly the same sound.

But is that normal? Is it the sound of the IACV engaging or something? Because my idle is perfect... right around 650 - 700 rpm

Your hot idle speed is correct. Mine has made the same sound for as long as I can remember and I've have had no SES light, or stored codes. You should determine the reason for your SES light being illuminated. The IACV stepper motor (controlled by the ECM) will move to maintain the correct idle speed with any change in engine loads. It appears to move to a "home" position when not at idle (throttle closed), and when the ignition switch is moved from OFF to ON and visa-versa you are supposed to be able to hear it (per the FSM where it is described as a "buzz" sound).

Ok, sounds like this is normal I suppose! Now I just need to fix my catalytic converter and high speed steering vibration

I have an 03 and it makes the same sound every time it passes ~850rpm both up and down.
