QUESTION ON 5-5.5 GEN INTAKE SET UP

Whats up everyone so I've been trying to find some info on the 5gen and the 5.5gen intake setup, whats the difference in the set up. My question is can we use a 5gen cai injen on a 5.5gen and 5.5gen cai injen on a 5gen? I know that some if not most mods fit on both 5gen and 5.5gen, headers, exhaust, suspension, etc? Looked all over and really couldn't find any info? If anyone can explain to me whats the difference that will be very helpful, looking to buy a cai injen for my 2001 Max real soon. If anyone has 1 for sale let me know. Thanks

Here's all the info you need: don't get a CAI unless your going to build it yourself to sit in the right location/have the right length and resonance etc. You'll DEFINITELY make more power just doing a SRI than anything else. Our engines like the short intakes in most situations. I personally have a JWT pop charger with the stock helmholtz resonator in place and I love it! Got it for $99.95 shipped here:

Or you could piece your own SRI together. Just make sure you use a velocity stack, because that's the most important component (the JWT unit comes with one)

I'm gonna check out that setup Jowo9 thanks for the info. I customized my own SRI but looking for something different. Nice setup Nmexmax could use a lil cleaning lol. Now does the 5.5gen Injen or any other 5.5gen performance intake setup will fit on a 5gen same goes for 5gen intake fitting on a 5.5gen? Just wanted to know cause sometimes I come across some good deals just wanted to know if they will fit on my 2001 AE.

the 5th gen intake has a breather pipe and two IACV pipes on it. The 5.5 Gen does not have the IACV pipes on it. So they are not interchangeable unless you modify them

I have a Berk intake with an Apexi dry flow filter. The filter has a built in velocity stack, is washable and it uses no oil so it won't harm the m.a.f. sensor. Apexi does sell it as a pop charger as well if you don't want the full intake noise fury. After doing alot of filter research, I decided to go with that one. It has one of the highest airflow/filtration ratios. It also looks really good too.
