Alternative to $71 front hub dust cap?

Anyone know of a less expensive alternative to the front hub dust cap (hub cap) than the dealer ($71)? I checked autozone and pepboys and they only carry or order ones for domestic autos.

Any advice you guys can give would be swell. I want to pick one up early next week before too much dust gets into my bearing and ruins it.

Thanks.

A couple of flea markets here in my town have tire shops, and bins full of just about any make and model dust, hub, and center cap. Last time I went hunting for one for my old Audi I used to have he was asking $5 for them.

Thanks, but there aren't many flea markets around here. We do have swap meets, but those are on weekends and I don't know if I can keep it exposed for a week until next week.

I guess I'll have to hit up the dealer.

Hub cap that goes on the rim? Or
Hubcap that goes on the actual hub

$71 for a bearing dust cap? That doesn't sound right. It's just a small piece of formed light gauge metal. If that is the correct price, I'd check out a wrecker.

Are you sure you even need one? Doesn't look like the 00-03 max even uses one. To me it looks like the castle nut acts as the dust shield:

You know I'm not 100% positive. Is that pic from what year max?

I couldn't find it on the courtesy Nissan parts catalogue so u think the guy I talked to quoting me the $71 was for the rear.

That's mine, a 2002 SE just before I did the 6th gen BB upgrade. According to Courtesy's site 2K-2K3 are all the same from the knuckles out.

Thanks for the replies. I feel much better now.

I just need to get a new centercap for my wheel which is going to be a pain in the a*s to come by...Kosei Penta R/T wheels have been discontinued and no one has parts. Ugh...

Give Billy at Bones Enterprises a call. He had center caps for some long discontinued ASA wheels I once had. He may have what you want.

Your Price: $7.27

Looks like somebody misplaced the decimal point!

He quoted me $71. I asked him if that was correct because it sounds way high. He said, "Yup, these are pretty expensive." But this was over the phone so I have no idea if he was looking at the right part.

He probably quoted you the whole front hub.

Best thing i can come up with.

either way your best bet is having a wheel centercap.

There is a bearing on the front, but since its FWD its a sealed bearing. My 89 Max was the same way. Now 4wds do have dust caps.
