Just my opinion...
Unless you are on coilovers, 19's are going to look silly. Your going to have to run a smaller tire as well, leading to a rough ride and making it easier to damage your wheels especially if they aren't OEM. As said, weight is also a factor. Its going to take more to get them rolling, and take more to get them to stop. But if you can live with that, and have the setup to properly run them, then go for it! I would opt for some 18's though.

no coilovers but i was thinking if do whent with 19 to get some lowering spring to make it look good. i can see how 19 would look sillly without a nice drop lol. if do go with the 19 how big a tire can run tought?

I'm currently running Rays Eng 350z tracks (18in) and although the ride isn't uncomfortable it's definitely harsher than stock (I'm still on stock springs as well)

yeah i can see what you mean i whent to the wheel shop today but they were about to close up the guy told me to go monday and he can hook me up with a good deal. lets how much the wheel and tire package comes out. fromw he told me he said i should go with 18 becuase tires for 19in wheel are expense. one quick question with lowering sprngs do i get the bouncy action or that only when stock spring are cut?

Go Big or Go Home. I finally settled on some inexpensive 19" x 8.5" wheels that are wrapped in 235/35/19 Falken 452's. Yes true nobody wants gap, so
I finally put in Ground Control coilovers/5-way Tokico adj struts.
There wasn't much difference between 18" and 19" ride, let alone price!! I don't know why everybody says this, because I did wholesale wheels for 10 years, that's all crappy salespeople. The ground control have me sittin pretty low. Rides like a champ, except for crappy Vegas roads. Recently, also had Rays 18"x8/8.5 forged before. When I first started I had H&R springs, but was like I did'nt even lower it.waste of money. very bounceee. Basically I'm slammed with 3.25 drop, 35 series tire, decent struts, and it takes corners like a champ with help from Stillen f/r strut/stabilizer bars. Yes bigger rim, smaller tire for same o.d.

First of all...
The bigger the wheel, the heavier it is, unless you get forged ones. The bigger the wheel, the thinner the tire will be if you plan on keeping same tire OD (which I think you should). The thinner the tire the harder the ride, the bigger chance of bending the rim if you hit a pothole and the shorter the timespan between tire changes. And of course like previous posters said, the heavier the wheel the worse your acceleration and braking times will be. But there is more to it as far as braking and I suggest you look into it separately.

Why would you want a staggered setup on a FWD car? You know that this way you can't rotate wheels unless you get a non-directional ones like Nitto Invo or Vredestein Sessanta? Just get 18x8 all around and be done with it. I have 18x10 in the rear on my Z, but it's putting 390 rwhp.

cause i like the way they look,i like the nice lip in the rear wheels. ive seen a couple around the forum that look real nice. like BLACKKILA.GTR maxi look amazing with the staggered set up, going for something like his.

well i was going to buy the tsw but the guy at the store some how idk why convinced me not to buy them. he said there where nice wheels but i was looking at 2300 for 18's, so i came and was looking at some g35 wheels and i aboslutly fell in love with the 19in forged ray's from the g35 so i might be gettin them tonight if the person gets back to me the specc of the wheels are Front 19x8JJ,Rear 19x8.5JJ and the offset is Front 30 Rear 33. anyone here runnign these wheels?

I am. I'm really happy with them.

Those and the 350z track editions are the best looking oem wheels for our cars imo

for looks alone most 18's will look small on a 5th gen plan and simple and I have been looking at all types of 5th gens for 10 years.
whatever bouncyness u heard about is true when you rig a vehicle and modify stock springs by cutting to make them lower than what they were made for.
Then by doing that the stock struts aren't designed for that ride height and thats even more problems.
when you buy lowering springs and performance struts that are designed for those purposes you will not have that "bouncyness", but pleaes note you may have a "harsher" ride because your car now dosen't have the same amount of suspension travel it once did on stock setup.
