Energy Suspension Bushings

If anyone out there has a 5.5 Gen I would strongly recommend installing the Energy suspension Motor mounts, subframe bushings and lower control arm bushings...OMG!!! I don't know how to explain the difference but it feels like when I put my foot on the clutch and engage I feel like its directly connected to the transmission. The engine doesn't flop up and down in the bay...stays still and allows you to actually accelerate because the wheels stay on the ground and takes off like a rocket ship (love the low end torque on the VQ35)......AWESOME! I also previously had HP Blues, Eibach springs and front strut bar and rear anti-sway bar...but when I added the lower control arm bushings.....BIG difference in the performance of the car. Basically install ES bushings on EVERY part of the car that is offered. All these things combined with the Sprint Booster (Strongly recommended) makes the car TONS of fun to drive......and I haven't even added headers, spacers, cattback, BOP, or anything yet!!!

Got them from an Energy Suspension dealer off ebay. You can check ebay for the bushings. I just typed in "Energy Suspension Maxima 2002"

Have you replaced your FSB bushings with ES rubber yet? Inexpensive and easy mod that will translate right through to the steering wheel, and make your steering feel like new.

As to the RCA bushings... that the only ES set that I passed on. Had a buddy replace his, and he said the effect was really minimal, although the labor expense was through the roof considering what a PITA it is to cut out the old ones.

OP, if you like all that you've done with these bushings, then you'd love those Subframe Collars sold here on the org. Look into it.

Got the ES LCA and RCA but haven't installed yet labor is pricey on that but most likely I will be taking them off and taking it to the shop so they just press them out and put new in and I install to cut the labor cost by 60-75%....going to order the FSB bushings and SF bushings, most easiest to do......

Thanks Roc....you are always helpful.

FSB are on order and plan on getting those installed pronto. What are "Subframe Collars?" are those like the subframe ES bushings? Where is a link so I can look at these "subframe collars?"

This is the original thread. I think the membership changed recently, IDK the backstory.... kind of confused about it, actually

http://forums.maxima.org/group-deals...e-collars.html

Anyway, carnal_c30 is the guy. PM him and find out more. Or search the 5th gen forum and you'll find plenty of info on "subframe collars".

Is there a part number or something to make sure i get the right ones? I am wanting to replace everything but the RCA, well that would probably come in the future.

edit: Never mind was able to find what I was looking for.
