Hi,
2000 maxima auto 226,000 miles
car wouldnt start, got new battery, started right up
drove 800 miles to LA, car ran beautifully, strong, no probs.
after sitting for 8 hrs, wouldnt start, (car trying sound)
disconnnected/reconnected sensor in front of heat shield, then started no prob.
Drove it, 1hr sitting. Starts up then dies.
Disconnected hose from iacv and it starts,runs fine.
When connected the throttle cable meets the iacv valve, but valve doesnt close. Disconnected hose from other side of iacv, car started idled fine.
So cleaning throttle body today and intake parts (full of dust).
Searched but nothing similar to this symptom. (hose off fixed iacv,iacv problem)

so do i need a new iacv from same year so ecu doesnt fry?
Car runs fine and starts without said hose disconnected.

so cleaned everything now the idle dies when car is warmed up,bad iacv?

 

anybody chime in here? did i screw up the post?
I suspect a bad IACV
the hose coming off it is unplugged, car starts up,but now when I drive for a while it starts to idle bad at stops, loss of power, then a surge of power when I give it gas.
CEL is on now.
Anybody?

I'm familiar with the 4th gen, why'd they change everything!!!
I went to check the CEl with the screws by the gas pedal, but theyre missing on the 2000 model I guess, Chilton manual can go to hell, and cant find howw to anywhere!!!!!!
