Need Engine advice

I have an 02 with what I believe is sever oil consumption. About a quart in 500 miles. The dealer that i bought the car from had me take it to a Nissan dealer where they performed a compression test. Nissan is saying that all the cylinders are within normal range. When I first bought the car I replaced all the spark plugs, when I pulled them again they where already carbon black, and there was a small amount of oil on them.

Is it possible that the plugs got this bad and there is no compression issue? Is there some other way that oil could seep in?

The Nissan dealer that I was told to take it to is a really shady dealership. a few to many complaints with the BBB. But the Dealership that I bought the car from would only pay for the diag if I took it to where they specified. I should be getting the car back today, and was thinking of taking it to another dealer and have them run a compression test.

Second opinion or perhaps try it yourself?

On our engines, oil consumption typically mean bad piston rings unfortunately. You might be lucky and just have a bad PCV valve... but I really suspect the dealership to have lied to you about the compression test. Maybe you could ask for a record/results of the compression test?

Just do the compression test yourself, it is not at all that hard.

^^, I just baught a compression tester the other week at NAPA for like $30....Just take 1 spark plug out at a time, screw the tester into the plug threads and crank the motor over untill the gauge peaks out then move to the next plug....
