HOW TO: Install rear spoiler on 2k GLE

Hey guys, i have a 2k gle that didn't come with a spoiler, so i am going to (try) to put one on. I already purchased one, and am waiting for it to arrive. It is not anything special, just a standard factory one, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or helpful info on this such as where to drill the holes, how to hook up the third brake light etc. As far as i know it does not come with anything other than the spoiler itself, the hardware, and the wiring for the light. I know that you usually need gaskets when you install them but i was just going to use double sided tape instead. Is there anything else that i am missing which is crucial? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Colin

I had a body shop install mine for 75 dollars. Way too much of a pain for a DIY project if you ask me. I would let the professionals handle this one.

Agreed on the fact that pros should handle it, but ultimately I am trying to keep the cost as low as possible. I don't think that the problem will be marking the holes and drilling them, but actually where on the trunk lid you should mount it ( eg. To far forward or backward or slightly off center). Does anyone know where I can obtain a template of measurements?

This is something I'm looking to do as well. Can I ask where you got the spoiler? Did they also paint it for you?

Good luck with the installation if you do end up doing it yourself.

I actually got it on ebay used for 40 bucks. He didn't specify the color and in the light from the picture it almost looks like it might be my color. If not, ill just get it painted to match my EV0

Maybe if you look from the inside of the trunk lid you might see markings or holes in the inner sheet metal.
