help with custom headlight zenon conversion..

hey guys....

so i work in a bodyshop... a customer came in with a 06 volvo v70 for rock chips..... replaced each headlight at 1200 a pop.... so ive taken the headlights and removed the projector hids from them and i wanna install them into my car....

the installation of the lights.... got that..... no problems.... but.... befor i start, i wanna figure out the wiring schematics...

yes.... i have looked on here but , nothing i can use for wiring tips....

has anyone installed projector hids from a volkswagon or volvo into there vehicles existing housing and wired it up?

im hoping from the ballast/igniter wiring i can splice it into a fuseable link, and wire derectly up to the existing harness, at this point im not to worried about highbeams, or even running lights for that matter..... ill get to that later!

anyways if anyone has any positive info it would be greatly appreciated!

thanks in advance

my garage says it... but people dont always notice it, 2000 maxima se, auto, daytime running lights.

it may probably be simpler to get a HID relay harness for your setup. Seeing as though you have a 2000 max, you can get an H4 ground switched harness(if they don't have that, you can just cut and switch around your + an - wires). ground switched means that we have one common hot wire (+) and the negative wires are the ones who switch from high to low, IIRC. This will simplify things a lot since you will pretty much have to connect the H4 male on the harness to your OEM H4 female, then connect the wires to the ballast. You may have to cut, and splice your ballast wires to the harness ballast wires(or use t-taps, i think that is what they are called) if you are going to go with the OEM ballast of the volvo.

the benefit of the harness is that it will be running your setup on a separate circuit/wires(with its own relay and fuse), which will protect your stock wiring. It will get the signal from one of your cars h4 connectors, but will not be straining your cars headlight wiring(will get juice directly from battery). Changing out a burned out relay harness is easier( and cheaper, they can be had for $15-$30) than changing out a burned out OEM headlight harness.

If the volvo projector is bixenon, then you get an h4 bixenon harness to give you the option of using the projector high beam.
