p0456 after BOP Install. Coincidence?
I just installed my BOP today and my CEL came on.
I saw a p0456 code, which is an EVAP system small leak.
I was wondering if someone could tell me if any of the components involved in the VIAS Delete / BOP mod could potentially cause this code?
I looked up the issue and many people say first step to fix this is the gas cap, but I was wondering if this EVAP leak could possibly be a result of lack of RTV on the BOP, or one of the 3 hoses that needed to be capped.
Is it purely coincidental?

Check and make sure your hoses are all routed and capped correctly, If not fix them clear the light and hope for the best

thanks 036mtmax.
I just took it all off today and capped off everything again and tried to seal the BOP better and reset the ECU. If it comes up again, I suppose I'll try the gas cap next.

So after about 50-60 miles of driving, the CEL comes back on but this time the code is P0442, which is also a small evap leak.
After a bit more research, things are pointing to the gas cap.
I remember smelling gas after parking before on the driver side rear near where the gas goes but didnt really think much of it and I suppose that's what this is.
After a bit of inspection, it looks like there's a bit of rust where the cap covers the fuel tank neck (filler neck?)
Anyone have any suggestions? Should I try to put some rust resistant paint over it, let it dry and put on a new cap? Or is there a simple way to replace the filler neck thing if that's what it's called?
