damn, after reading what some of you wrote in here, i feel like I don't open it enough. only 1x a week, or even less at times.

1x per week keeps me sane. No surprises.

My 5.5 needed to be opened up about every five days to make sure the oil wasn't down to my replacement threshold, half a quart.

I open up my 6th gen's hood less often than my former 5.5 because it doesn't NEED to be opened as much--stuff isn't breaking (to be fair, I'm only really referring to oil consumption) like it did on the 5.5. I agree the plastic-overload makes it less interesting to look inside the later generations, though.

I'm gonna regret this - but I'm the same. For some reason I haven't had the oil burning issue either. YET!!! (hopefully that extends my good luck).

A few times a year for an infusion of Mobil1 and a fresh air filter.

Maybe one more time in between for some windshield washer fluid.

(edit) I also replaced a blown pass side headlamp last fall, which required me to open the hood.

I do it a couple of times a week to check the oil, wipe off some dust, and just stare at the engine asking myself if I can change the motor mounts myself...I snap out of it, then wipe away.

Since you have the 3.0 you shouldnt ever have to open it between oil changes.

Nah, I got the 3.0 and I open it at least 2 times at week.

Why? Because I love to watch her little heart
