I attribute some portion of my good fuel economy to mine (UR UDP)... how much is hard to say, as I installed headers at the same time

It DOESNT ADD horsepower.....only frees up power wasted on turing heavy crap!!! IT DOES WORK........saying it does nothing is a LIE! Anytime you take weight off a car you do "something" to enhance performance.

Don't they say that every 100 lbs removed is at least a 10th of a second in the 1/4? Also heard every 1lb of removed rotational mass is equal to 10 static lbs being removed. I could be wrong.

I heard that about 100lbs too...I thought it was every 1 lb rotational reduced was like reducing 8lbs static weight.....I dont know...whatever...its going to make your horsepower to weight ratio better and your car will perform better. Thats why you see these Civic hatchbacks with 230hp doing like 11 & 12 sec 1/4 mi times because they weigh like 1800lbs. gutted all out. thats why we always trash Mustangs....because they TANKS...they have high horsepower but they HEAVY as hell...like 4000lbs.

and tear down my belts faster and squeak like im ****ing pro charged or something

and thats the point where i took it off and threw it in my garage somewhere

All what money? It was 50 bucks for something that normally sells for like 200. Sorry you hated yours. BTW you can see it when you have your wheel turned? Now I know to parked with my wheel cocked!

Pretty much. One of those things to say, oya, I have one. Add to the mod list, etc.

My car sees 7100 a lot, and this thing has been on forever. Also, VQ's have an internal harmonic balancer so yeah, the pulley doesn't act like one. Although I agree, you might want to stick with the reputable ones, i.e. do some research on here and in the 4th gen forum.

I do recall a few horror stories (seriously between 2 & 3 in my time on this forum) where the pulley failed and catastrophically damaged the engine.

I wouldn't sweat it though.

And just to clarify, with the racial remark, SteveB is being sarcastic, he knows better.

Changing the original crankshaft pulley can have negative effects if the replacement pulley is not manufactured properly. A crankshaft or accessory pulley that is not machined or balanced properly can cause severe damage.
You make fine points - but the argument of poor design can apply to anything. you are both right I'm sure. But remember the most important fact. The OP originally stated that it is NOT an underdrive pulley. but it IS a lightweight pulley. The argument of the poor design still applies. The argument that others have run it without issue also still applies.

Buyer beware. good luck with the install.

Yeah...I can't wait!!! Stillen also says that after the first couple hundred miles after the install you need to get the belts re-tightened down. Maybe that's why people had problems....they never went to get their belts re-tightened after awhile and they got loose....
