I have a y pipe without a full cat and yes I can tell a difference. I remember some people saying they couldn't feel or tell any difference after the y install, but I think their butt dyno's need to recalibrated!

A full exhaust overhaul from manifold to muffler will yeild great results (assuming it is done right), but the sound can be horrible. I don't personally think I could drive around with the y pipe and the greddy cat back ... from the recordings I've heard, it is loud! I know I haven't heard it in person, but being the only max modder in 75 mile radius ... I'm the only test subject.

what u mean by full cat? you mean you have to have one(stock or RT cat)? or did you mean an aftermarket cat?
honestly, my cat is empty inside right now..i'm pretty much running a straight pipe cuz the stuff inside my cat is all burned out. you bang on my cat, you can tell it's empty inside!!

not really... I have a Cattman Y Pipe on my Max and I can feel the difference in my car. If you add an intake you can feel a larger difference w/ the y pipe also.

Get the y-pipe fo' sho' and just get a custom b-pipe from you cat to your stock muffler and that should be fine and not too loud.

I think maybe he means "full cat-back" ? Meaning a complete aftermarket performance exhaust system that bolts onto the catalytic converter.

That's ridiculous. Combo of y-pipe and intake gave me about 15 hp to the wheels.

Not really, I felt a difference after the y-pipe and the sound wasn't loud with the stock exhaust set up. How would your friend know if he/she hasn't tried it?

i have y-pipe, test pipe, b-pipe, and apexi N1 exhaust...sounds great love it people tell me it's loud, but i think it's ok hehe.... if you don't like the loudness, just get a silencer, that should take care of your problem
