What brand are OEM coil packs?

So im getting the great p1320 code, it poped its head once before but went away for a while. Now its back and comes back just shortly after resetting. Im gona start with coilpacks.

But I want OEM, which ones are good. I searched but couldnt find a definitive answer.

are BWD oem and good?

Or is Hitachi OEM?

Or is Hanshin oem

which is best and were do I get it for the best price.

Thanks Org

Well I am not sure but it seems that most of Nissan electric/electronic parts are Hitachi...

The 4th gen's came with Hanshin's. If you are a VQ30 5th gen, you should be the same. I had P1320 coming up from using aftermarket coilpacks, so I would definitely agree about going OEM.

I purchased all 6 coils aftermarket from Autozone and Amazon. It's been over 70k miles and they are still going. They all had some kind of silver sticker that were covering the gray dots, meaning they are the updated ones. They also have the Nissan logo shaved off on the stem portion of the coils, and what it looks like the Nissan part number shaved off the "head" of the coils, leading me to believe that they were OEM packaged with just a store name change.

Standard Motor Products was the brand of the ones purchased from Amazon and Duralast the ones from Autozone.

I thought the gray dot was to help segregate new-built parts from old parts when Nissan and dealer stocks were intermingled. This many years on I'd think you'd get all new built parts.

I got coils from Autozone as well as Ebay and they didn't have gray dots but I know they're newly built since the mfr's date codes were 2010. I don't know who made the Autozone parts but they have a good guarantee. The ebay parts were Hitachi, IIRC, one plug boot came off but that's the only issue.

I don't see how getting OEM is a guarantee your getting anything better though: the old-built non-gray dot parts were, after all, OEM.

Autozone is Duralast, I've had 1 Duralast in for about 20k miles now and no problems whatsoever.

Just to confuse you, OP, I've had nothing but bad luck with Duralast brand electrical components--spark plugs, plug wires, coil packs... Return after return after RETURN was needed before getting them right. Since I've owned my Maximas, I've sworn to stay clear of the cheap Autozone stuff and don't regret spending an extra $2->$20 a component for peace-of-mind and the confidence I won't have to dig out some malfunctioning part every 1000 miles to swap for another that breaks as quickly.
