OE Equivalent: Tokico Blue's

One step above OE: Tokico Illumina's (they are adjustable)

The previous owner of my car installed Monroe Sensa-trac's and they seem to do a good job soaking up the bumps. My g/f and I last month recently went up to Staten Island, where she is from, and those are horrible roads! The car seemed to absorb and go over the bumps without too much drama, and I didn't bottom out once or have any clunking or banging. I was trying to dodge as many of those road hazards as possible, but I still hit more of them than I wanted.

This is my first Maxima, and I cannot comment on any other brand of shock/strut for our cars since I've never changed out what my car currently came with from the previous owner.

Blues or GR-2's.

Blues - soft, exact OEM replacement
GR-2's - slightly stiffer, nicer handling.
Illuminas are overkill for OEM springs.

Oh, and to anyone in NY, you need to be coming to me for the installation.

PM me and I'll give you the list of parts you need for a proper, legitimate suspension renovation.

And it probably rides fine to you because it's a super stiff spring on a super soft strut.

I'm sending you a PM with my phone number. Please give me a call. There is a lot of knowledge you should realize/understand before you undertake a suspension job.
