Engine heat shield ... remove or not to remove ?

Hi
Will have some work in the engine bay soon...Would you be with or against removing (deleting) the heat shields (covering the precats) completely or leave them alone (more importantly the rear) ? Some would argue why , and my answer is eleminating a posibile rattling potential cause ... So if no REAL necessary reason to keep them there I would be happy to delete them....BTW maxima 2002.
Cheers

P.S. I am changing the engine torque mounts and the cross member will be out .. would that make the shield come out easier from below ?

My heat shields went with my original pre-cats when I sold them.

If they are rusted, look like crap, and make noise from rattling, remove them especially if you plan on doing headers at some point. Otherwise I would leave them on.

Yeah I'd remove them .. I just did headers about a month ago and didn't remove my heat sheilds and I still occasionally get the rattle so it's time for them to go

Take them off. I ran for a year and a half with no heat shields. No damage to anything that I can see.
