Ok after replacing every known sensor on this motor to try and get this SES light to go out,I decided to the car into the shop and pull the oil pan and see why i get this nasty noise at start up,Well after pulling the pan down the amount of metal lying on the bottom of that pan had me amazed this car even started up in the first place......Soooo looks like im making some phone calls today to get a motor

What code are you getting?

VQ35DE motors for out year are not expensive. You going to pay more in labor, if you have someone install it, than what you paid for the engine. If you can while the engine out I would build it up!

$1200 FOR A 02-03?!?!?!?!?! That's rediculous that's the price for a 6th gen VQ35 not a 5.5 gen.

No, nvm -__- just did some quotes over here, they've gone back up again, they've exceeded the 6th gen in cost now.

I'd say it's fair.

Sorry to hijack a thread like this, but is it possible to put a 6 gen motor in a 5.5/5 gen?
If so, what else would you need beside the new engine harness and ECU?

Recently bought an 05 motor with 66k and a 1 yr warranty for $750. Give goyette's a call. There in mass and have another maxima motor with around 95k or something like that for $550. Worth a try.
