CV Joint discontinued??

last week i replaced the driver's axle (CV joint) and tie rod (was blown out), so i decided, since i did the driver side, doing the passenger side as well is the right thing to do. i went to Autozone (where i go t the driver side) for a remanufactured CV. they had neither a reman or a new one...same story with NAPA. I am hoping this is not a " Dealer Item Only".
Anyone know anything about this or where i can get a reman ? i am from conn.

PS. My SE is an 02 with a 6 speed manual trans

Advanced sold me the infamous GSP axle. DON'T GET IT!!! They sell the automatic passenger axle for the 6 speed. It is too short.

They carry the axles for 5.5 manuals...

Have NAPA order it for you. Should have it in 24 hours...

Reman'd is Part # NMD 955273
New Part is # NMD 945035

Interesting. They have both the new/reman'd at my local Napa in stock right now and it's a distribution warehouse. Odd they wouldn't ship it out for you...

...good luck.

well, if all else fails you can just try Nissan Dealer. Going to be super expensive, but what else can you do?

Some NAPAs are independent and choose to carry brands other than those carried by the actual GPC distribution centers. That is the difference. You'll have to ask them to order direct from GPC instead of another manufacturer.

I hope I don't go through all this trouble to get my passenger side cv joint or axle, when I need to get it.

im on my 3rd autozone axle on my 4th gen in two weeks! after comparing many at the store the were all a bit different! different lengths (keyed portion) i finally picked the one that was closest to the one i pulled out.

so i dont suggest them, it was $140 from courtesyparts i should've just used the real thing!

... the odd thing tho, when they looked up the part it showed in their system only reman (the guys said they just didnt make a new for my max lol!), the website offered new. so i looked up the part # had them search and sure enough they had it. 2nd time i went back they listed it correctly!

im not supprised i wouldnt use them but if you must just bring them the part# you should be fine
