does anyone recognize their car?

Just curious to see if this belonged to a member on the forum? Seems like someone did put some wrench hours in this clean 5.5gen...

GLE with a 6MT conversion? Good looking car.

But $9000 for a 100K mileage, 10 year old Maxima? Um, no.

true it is overpriced... but it does look good, not really sure about the AE lip on the 5.5gen stock bumper

You're right, that front lip doesn't fit the 5.5 bumper at all. Not even a little.

BTW, the color isn't "gold", it's Sunlit Sand... which was just about the most unpopular color ever on the Maxima. Dealer lots were filled with Sunlit Sand 5th gens because no one wanted to buy a beige car.

Wait... that is NOT a GLE with a 6MT conversion. That's a SE with a cloth interior. Notice the black leather steering wheel. Highly doubtful someone would go through the expense to swap steering wheels.

The Tein and NWP stickers on the windows tells you a little something about the previous owner, that he modded the car with quality parts. But the fact that those stickers are on the windows, and the chrome rims, and the mismatched front lip... that all tells a story as well.

The cars.com posting is in error.

Yeh...overpriced. I paid $8000k for mine and at the time it was a 2002 SE with a 6speed, leather interior, heated seats and steering wheel, no rust with 84k miles. That was 2 years ago!!! OVERPRICED!!! They just trying to make money on it because it has a few performance mods on it.

Not sure I fully understand your statement here, but I'll add my comments.

Many Org members put stickers on their vehicles to show the parts installed on there vehicle. I don't think that tells a story about the prev. owner.

The chrome rims appears to be "factory" 18" 350Z rims. Which means he stuck with a OEM upgrade and they just so happened to be chrome. (Not my cup of tea, but hey, he stuck with an OEM rim which I like). And since this is the sunlit sand , chrome seems a practical match. Again, not sure that tells a story about the prev. owner.

I have to give the previous owner props for getting the lip to fit as well as he did. I know there are several threads of people wondering if this was possible with modifications. Apparently it is possible, just not the best fitment when lining up to 5.5 factory fascia. Lastly, still don't think that tells a story about the owner.

With that said, the car appears to have been taken care of, but I would never consider the asking price. This is a dealer posting, so I am sure they have no idea what they actually have... ...posting as a GLE makes no sense, since the title should clearly state SE.

Way overpriced. But looks decent enough.

Somewhat of an effort too make the AE lip fit, but I think there needs to be some cutting/fitting/shaping in order too make it flow. As it is now its just a factory lip jammed onto a mismatched factory bumper.

The only way I see making that lip work is making a hybrid 5th/5.5 bumper with the lower portion from a 5th, that way it fits factory lines.

Also the prime reason why I have an AE lip sitting in my garage with no home.

I don't know if that is a GLE? Looks more like a SE, it deosn't have leather, no heated seats, climate cluster isn't the same as GLE package. Didn't know GLE came with those options? I could be wrong. Either way, it is a good looking car.

Wasn't there a member who went by Squirrel something or other that used to have a sunlit sand Max...? I seem to remember him having chrome rims of some kind.

Maybe I'm going crazy.

Thank you Roch! I'm sick of the "oh why did you get a gold Maxima" routine the ****ing car isn't gold, I personally don't like gold cars and I purchased this one so that in itself tells you something about this color, its a nice light beige I like it

Judging by the shifter, it seems to be well driven.

its just interesting to find that a dealer actually has a car like that for sale... most likely they took it as a trade in... I worked for a finance company about a year ago and I had to take repo cars to the auto auction once a month... dealers never really liked to get involved with "modded" cars still he should know better that the price is way too high...

Funny you should say that.

I was looking at that as well.

Interestingly enough, I know a few people with same issue. But it's because of the oils from their skin. It eats away at the plastic faster than normal. Their door's show the same abnormal wear as do their armrests.

So it could be the way he/she drove or just naturally degraded.

That's a $6000 car on the lot. On a direct sale, maybe $5000. Period.

MIK3 has/had a very nicely modified 5.5 gen in Sunlit Sand. But I think his was an '03, and a better car than this listing. Pretty sure he had better taste than this car demonstrates.

Yeah, that's definitely an SE..."sunlit sand" as well (thanks Rochester )

Looks to also have at least a 2.5" Cattman axle-back. The intake is shot to shi.it, but seems like it was taken care of. It'd be interesting if the owner stepped in this thread.

Yep, still have it (and should for at least another 3 years! Thanks for the kind words - the modding has subsided due to miles + grad school expenses (ok, drastically slowed down), but the love is as great as ever...

Yeah I was thinking that. Believe Rochester replaced his? It was probably still in perfect condition though lol

That's quite the coincidence. Hi, Mike.

Yes, last year sometime. The original just got worn out. I think it's normal. A new one is only $60 or thereabout. Very reasonable.

Jy is everybody dissing the sunlit sand?!?!? I personally like it especially all shined up, has a nice rich quality about it. Also around dusk it almost looks silver from a distance. It is actually one of my favorite colors ( and not just because I have it!) but I always liked it. I think that the dark green(unsure of color code) or even the maroon is far uglier.

I've always liked the merlot Maximas.

But then again, maybe it's because they're so rare. It's a unique color, and it catches my attention every time I see one out and about (there are one or two floating around here).

Wonder what kind of headers are on it since they are wrapped.

But it seems like somebody removed as many mods from it and traded it in.

Over-priced vehicle though but I guess the dealer knows it has modifications on it and hike the price up.

I think she's purdy ...if it had black leather interior, bronze LMTG4's, AP 4 piston brakes, altima nismo intake, tint, a sunlit sand painted center console, a full painted stillen lip kit, and the engine bay was detailed i'd ****** it for 8K

I like the sunlit sand...especially if it was dropped on bronze LMGT4's...that would look classy & sporty at the same time

oh...I'm also pretty sure those are the 2005 Maxima SE rims. My stepdad had those exact rims on his red 2005 Maxima 6speed SE from the factory....we are a maxima fam my mother had a Gold package Pearl 4th gen, my stepdad bought a 6 speed fully loaded 6th gen SE...then I bought my fully loaded 5th Gen SE! My mother since traded up for the fully loaded 4x4 Armada LE<<----ok I should shut up b/c i'm getting

yaaay sunlit sand
