Hey ghost thanks, that thread is really helpfull and i also just placed an order for the thermister. 97 cents shipped lol. Going to take the maf sensor out of the housing and compare it tk the ones in the pictures. It looks the same has the spot for the thermistor, its a five pin connector, the only that freaks me out is that housing say 93 sentra 2000 altima. I think the dude just plucked it out of a junkyard

That is possible, he may not have known or just for a quick sale on the car. Has the problem just come up or has the car been running rough since you got it.

Honestly the car sjnce i bought never ran rough it has calm idle no roughness, he gave me this excuse that they have stolen the at a car wash. The chek engine is light on pulled the code and it was for the maf, cant remember what is was exactly. I just noticed this because is was putting on an intake and saw the writing that was kn the maf housing. Had thi part number 22680-bj000. Also noticed that there is no thermister, but from what the pictures i saw on link posted earlier the there is no differences physically on the actual sensor except for the missing thermistor. I placed and order for a honeywell thermister and im going to try it out. Eventhough the sensor look the same is there any differences how it performes depending on what car is for?

I would think that the actual MAF sensor would be different for a Sentra / Altima as both can be had in four cylinder engines, the actual sensor might look the same and have the same pin out pattern but I would almost bet it would communicates differently with the ECU. You might want to also consider purchasing a 00-01 MAF sensor for I believe 100.00 and once you have the thermistor transplant it onto the new MAF. You could call Dave B. for the part he is usually pretty good on the pricing and would know the exact part number your after.

Well that is why I asked if the car had been running like crap all the time you have had it. You may only need the thermistor but some how I doubt it ... give just the thermistor a try and should you continue to have an issue then you will know that the MAF sensor as well will need to be replaced.

As I mentioned before you could call Dave B. and run the part number by him that you currently have installed as get his thoughts. Then again the car that you think is driving just fine could be running like crap, poor power delivery, bad gas mileage after all what have you got to compare it to ... you may be missing out on the full power and fun that these cars can deliver.

suffice it to say that if you read the post it tells you there are two mafs that will work. one benig a third the cost of the other. you will have to call to verify but dollars to donuts one is a 2k and ones a 2k3 with thermistor

2000-2001 MAF

This year I had to replace my MAF in my 2002 SE. After a lot of research, I figured I'd try the 2k/2k1 to 2k2 swap idea. Went to buy the MAF for the 2001 Max and low and behold, the thermistor was already in the MAF! I didn't check the part number from the new MAF to make sure they didn't give me the wrong part and charge me the cheaper price for the 2001 MAF. I can do it later tonight if someone needs me to. I've put several thousand miles on the car, and no lights/codes. Just some FYI for the thread.
