Sts Mod Question

I bought all the necessary hardware to do the free diy sts today, and was planning on doing the install tommorow. I understand what exactly is involved, which isn't really much, but I was just unsure as to where exactly the new hole would need to be drilled. By that I mean how far from the stock "dowell" do I need to drill the new hole? Also, do I drill the new hole parrallel from the stock dowell or do I drill the required distance but use the linkage arm and swivel it to see where exactly it stops? Would make more sense to do that but Id just like confirmation before I begin drilling.

That's actually the thread Im basing everything Im doing off of. Unlike the usual threaded bolt setup, I bought the clevis pin as done in that diy. I just don't want to drill the hole too short or too far away from the original dowell. That diy gives me a rough idea of where to drill, but just wanted to see if anyone had exact measurements I could base what I do off of.

STS mod on my car right here in this pic...

Such a little adjustment for a HUGE improvement in shifting. Love it.

To answer the OP's question and to lessen the clicking for clicking-impaired. (like me) lol
