Depends on the availability of motors, If you can't find a new Dek then i suggest fixing your current one

Call the shop that did your oil change and tell them they owe you a new motor...

+1 I never let a mechanic or lube center touch my Maxima. Last time I went to Jiffy lube (years ago) they didn't screw the filter on all the way. I got 3 blocks and all my oil dumped over the road. Luckly I didn't blow my motor or anything serious. That was a huge realization to start doing my own maintenance on my cars.

I'd replace the motor if you can find one. Depending on what is wrong with your current one you may be able to rebuild it for a good price if it's possible.

Another option would be to contact an attorney. Hopefully you have your receipt /repair order when you took your car into the shop. That way they can take them to court and sue them for neglegence, and get the money to repair or replace the engine.

was it a well known chain oil change place that did it? if it was a chain shop from what im told they expect 4 or 5 engines to accidentally leave without oil per year and budget some money to replace engines

either way they owe you a new engine

Those chain places have a reputation for f**king s**t up for sure. My brother briefly worked for one of them. He quit because of their poor business practices and the way the work is half arsed. If they didn't have your particular filter in stock, guess what? The old one stayed on. Not cool...

so you are going to swap the engine by yourself or may be with the help of a friend now but you let someone else do the stupid oil change for you????

Let me guess, you hand wash your car every week right? Or do you take it somewhere?

Good, as long as you're consistent with your beliefs.

Now I think there's some one else having some car trouble go bother them now.

I love your sarcasm, now I think there's someone else having a bad day go try to cheer them up
