Steering Column Lower Dust Cover

Anybody know how to remove the lower steering column dust cover without removing the entire steering column? I am trying to get in there because I suspect a worn u-joint.

Thanks

What year is your Max? Have you reviewed the FSM the index you would want to look at is the "ST" section on assemble and disassemble

After checking the FSM the assemble from 2000 -2003 all appear to be the same

You need to install the steering column bushing in there as a mod.

I have a 2000. I have already looked in the fsm and it is not very specific as to what needs to be removed to gain access to the lower steering column. I was just asking to see if anybody has had experience removing this cover before and what is all involved in removing it.

Thanks again
