2k2 Maxes

I don't know about you guys, but over here in Ottawa, all i see is old peeps driving the 2k2's... Makes me kinda angry cause they have no idea what's under the hood, their cars are probably never even going to hit 6600RPM's, truly a sad sight when a 3.5L VQ is involved.

You can say that again, my mom fell in love with my 2k2 and bought one herself.

But the way she drives, i felt sorry for the car and it's capabilities myself.

Oh well.

Kind of like the Caddy Northstar. That thing can be tweaked to be a beast (although still not a superfast car due to the weight). The Licoln LS is pretty mean too. The Maxima certainly has its older drivers...that's one of the reasons I have made a few minimal modifications to the cosmetic appearance to set mine apart. Also one of the reasons I got the AE (for the body kit). An AE or Stillen body kit along with the clear markers and a 1" drop can really set you apart from those Maxima drivers who don't quite represent the audience of the ORG.

However, don't assume that just because the driver is 60+ they have no idea what's under the hood. When I hit 60 I fully intend to be driving a faster and more powerful car than I own today. Car enthusiasts don't die, their cars just start smelling funny.

Oh, and when one of the future members of .ORG finds me, a few decades from now, driving my future 4DSC with grey hair and looks and laughs and gets a little sad thinking I don't know what's under my hood...I'll wait patiently for that light to turn green and, when it does, he'll wet his pants watching my tail lights disappear.

I guess you guys haven't pulled up next to me then. I happen to be one of those mature gentlemen with the first one in town (black 2002 6 sd), Stillen air intake, exhaust, and sway bar, H&R springs and FSTB that has been dynoed twice. See you on the road sometime.

I also happen to be a VET bicycle racer who generally wins his class and also beats others much younger.

What is this, the day of awakening old threads. First the BWM/Alti/Max thread and now this one.

Careful there! I bet my 23 year old son is pretty pleased that I gave him my 97 5 speed Maxima so I could justify my new 02 6sp HLSD with mods to come. The majority of my fellow C5 owners have at least some silver hair I can tell you more than 60% of those are 6sp and a large proportion are modded well beyond 400hp. Mine included.
The AARP car club has different taste in visual mods and probably won't street race, but we do have the means to enjoy some pretty fun rolling stock.

Care to share your dyno results with everyone on the board?

WHen i first got the car.. people used to tell me what the hell, thats an "old peple" car...
Once i put the tints on it changed the look of the car entirely.
I got new rims and tires finally, now i need a drop.

Tint, the AE body kit, and the clear markers give mine a pretty distinct look. I park somewhat near a guy who drives a white GXE (stock as they come). They are distinctly different cars.

For a good example of giving your car a unique look, nothing beats irvine78's side-by-side with a 2K2.

your ae looks a lil agressive as is.. the ae kit distinguishes the car from other grocery getters very well.

Roadee all the way. I have a couple of bikes with sophisticated equipment for monitoring wattage (equivalent to HP in cars) while you are riding on the road (measures power or force on the crank) and the equivalent on a trainer in my basement along with 3D software which enables you to design your own course (hills, curves) and race against someone on the internet or against your previous performance.

And I thought I was overboard with an Altimeter on my bike computer, in Houston!
