Theoretical Question about SC on 2k2

Say one puts an SC on the 2k2, what kind of power gains are we looking at with the stock pulley?

Back during the Civic days (yeah) it's usually you gain 35-40% more HP over the engine's stock HP ratings. Is that the same with Max's?

Say one figures out how to fit an SC in a 2k2...

The SC stock pulley should give about 50-60hp? But the new 3.5 have vtcs and varible volume intake so it might give more area under the hp/torque curves up high.

Sprite is right though. How you gonna fit it?

Thus, theoretical. I'd just like to know that the engine might be capable of given the chance.

then you might as well theoretically toy with the idea of a Turbo.. because its the same dilema.. and with the Turbo.. you can turn the boost up easiser.. quite frankly you might have a better chance of turbo'ing your 2k2 than supercharging it at this point

True, given the Z will come out with a turbo sooner or later and given it shares the same engine with the Max then there might be a possibility, albeit not a lot.

Primary reason i asked was because i'd like to know how the SC on Max's rate against SC's on Honda's (e.g. the 40% gain and such.)

Purely for educational purposes alone. I doubt i'll personally be putting in either a Turbo or an SC on my car... it's already hard enough as it is launching this thing. Makes me wish i waited for some kind of LSD.

if Nismo makes a turbo kit for the upcoming Z, then you guys with the 2k2 maximas may be in luck

The 3.5L VQ is going to go in the Japanese Skyline-GTR so I'm pretty sure there will be some parts that will fit the 2k2 Max. Not sure how hard putting the GTR turbos on the Max will be, or if it'll even be possible.

yeah... but since we are getting theoretical about things, lets throw all the options on the table

Hehe... A twin turbo 3.5L VQ would be such a beast (conservatively rated at 280HP ). Not sure how you would get the tranny to take that level of power the engine would really have, but it would be interesting to say the least.
