Strange clunking sound when shifting gears

Hey guys after my clutch was done about 3 weeks ago, i started to notice a weird clunk sound every time i shift gears. I dont shift hard and when i do soft engagement you can still hear it coming from the tranny. Is that a bad tranny mount or something worse..... keep in mind the car only has like 42,978 miles! lemme know!!

Your profile doesn't state what year you have, but I'm guessing from the problem description it's 00-01. The shift linkage was probably not tightened down correctly. After some use, it became loose and is now causing play in the linkage. If you're 5th gen, check your linkage.

Sorry for the vague description, its a 2003 6 speed. I had a guy test drive it today and hes a bit stumped too, hes gonna jack it up tomorrow. Someone else also mentioned it could be the linkage. When i clutch in, shift i hear the sound, when i let go of the clutch i hear it again. But the car shifts perfect, no popping of gears, no grinds, engine and tranny has 43,015 miles now.

Didnt understand that last post fully. Did you mean to say that if you push the clutch pedal in, the noise is gone but when it's released, the noise returns? If so, that is a tob (throw out bearing) issue.

yes, when i shift and release it returns. The throw out bearing is brand new, it was in an exedy oe clutch kit! but why would it give problems?

Update, it appears to be from a bad passenger side wheel bearing. Going to get it replaced wednesday, will update soon.
