Whats it worth 5.5

Hey all, i need some help trying to figure out what my 2003 max is worth. A little history and explanation of whats going on. Back in july while driving along bumpin my music the tranny suddenly let go, felt like it was in nuetral. When i came to a stop everything was fine, drove like nothing happen. I called my mechanic and he told me it is most likely the shift solenoid, said if its going fine then dont worry. 2 weeks later it did it again, same like before, came to a stop and took off like nothing was wrong. This time i decided to take it to the mechanic. I left the car with him for 2 weeks, it took that long for him to recreate the issue, he drove it home and did errands in the car every day with no problems. He confirmed that the shift solenoid needs to be replaced, $400-$500. He said not to stress it to much cause the car runs fine. I was thinking of just getting a low milage tranny ($350-$500) and just swapping it out (labor $750-$850). Wasnt a big deal to me cause the car still runs which means i have time to gather the cash. WELL i tore my achilles tendon in late august, surgery on sept 5th and i've been sitting home ever since. Presently the max has been a little bit of a hoe since i'm doin anything, my cousin was driving it for 2 months while he put together enough cash for a new car, a buddy of mine has been driving it for the last couple of weeks cause the clutch went his car, and another friend has taken it few times so he can creep.
So lets see what we got, 2003 maxima, 140k miles, frost leather interior thats clean (no rips or stains), heated seats and steering wheel, traction control and stability control, front and side curtain airbags (all of these items are optional and not many dont have them). Eclipse touch screen dvd nav, zapco components up front and zapco coaxials in rear, kicker 120x4 amp. I removed the sub, sub amp and the batteries from the trunk, 200 amp alternator is still there.hr lowering springs and tokico blues. Some one who doesnt know how to park scraped the bumper about a month ago so that needs to be repainted.

Any help with pricing the max for sale would be appreciated, i hate to sell it but i go back to work in 4 to 6 weeks and i'm running out of cash which means i need to figure out where the rent is coming from till then. Thanx

I would fix it, just my opinion. Take care of your injury, and get back on your feet again, no pun intended

Honestly if i had the $$ i would. I really like the '02-'03 body. Dont care for the '04-'08 body, reminds me of a saturn.

I noticed i didnt point out it is an SE.

I would say that you could, so long as the rest of the car is in good shape, and it only needs transmission repair.

Well i havent really seen my car in about a month or so. My friend is picking up his car tomorrow so i should be getting it back either tomorrow night or tuesday and i will see what torture she has endured over the last couple of months. If there is 1 thing i have learned through the years, no one takes better care of your property than you do. Hopefully they havent beat it all to hell.

If the tranny was the only problem and in good condition, could of sold for 3500 if that was in my area, would of been all over it for 2500, get frankfurt for like 400 used and let my mechanic switch it out for like 400 labor....
