Hey, how about a group deal on Grey Lustre touch up paint!

If we get enough can we reduce the price to nothing?

get a nosemask

i had my max for a month before i noticed the damn paint chipping, so i took it in to the dealer and they touched up the paint and gave me a nosemask for free. i have a super black max and the nose mask looks good on it. it even helps deflect the wind. i think nosemasks are like $90 at http://www.nissan-accessories.com

Nose Masks damage the paint even more. The water gets trapped under it and creates a lot of problems. Also, when it gets hot again and you get water under there and then the mask dries out, it leaves a sticky residue on the hood. Friend of mine sold his car and was going to take the mask off. Well, he peeled it off, leaving behind the worst residue you could have on your hood. If you want some protection, you have to get that 3M mask.

I been seeing a lot of Maxima's getting chips from the road, myself included. In the Nissan Maxima brochure it shows that our cars got though some sort of diamond test where they shoot diamonds at the paint to see if it chips. You would think little pebbles on the road should not chip your paint that easily if they test it with diamonds!!!

I think they stopped referring to that diamond test in the 2001 brochure!

Nissan is very specific about care...

Hey Xtant - I inquired about the nose mask when I bought my car - the thing is you have to remove it everytime it gets wet and have to take it off periodically to allow the paint to breathe - you also have to keep it extremely clean underneath - So if you live in a rainy area like seattle, it would be useless... but in Nevada or Arizona, it would be great. There is a company out there that has magnetic ones for around 200.00 or so, possibly a better option, I don;t know. The point is, I think overall, the Max's body is going to require a little extra care throughout its lifetime.
