Light keeps on coming on/off, im guessing alternator starting to go? What should I check for?

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's not a secret code for anything, check the washer fluid.

Seriously the fluid is full...

On my old car (95 SE) The alternator went and lights just started coming on and then turned back off.

 

The sensor in the washer resovior is obviously caked with crud pullit out after u drain your fluid clean it inspect the.wiring refill it... if that doesnt work replace the sensor.... i bet the float is busted on it...... thats a serious answer for u.... i dont understand why.everyone bags on people like this.... if it were ur alt... Ur batt light woukd be on followed by the.rest

 

LOL I also owned a 95 and I don't remember one of those lights being the washer fluid level but when the alternator goes everything will act funny including gauges. If it's specifically only one light then that should be a big clue that it is singular to that particular system.

+1 for the fluid sensor thing or maybe a short in its cable.

 

Yea a while back I was driving around and my turn signals and my high beam indicators started flashing, I did a little research and sure enough my oil pump had went out. Luckily because of the indication from the engine lights I caught it in time and saved the engine.

I have always wondered why the oil light looks like that. It looks nothing like an oil can. Then again, most of the youngsters have probably never seen a can of oil, or the spigot you have to ram into it. Those were the days!

damn.... my alt. has been going for the past year then....

 

No i'm not that old yet. I remember the oil cans back in the 80's when I was a kid, and how they started getting phased out with the plastic bottles with the screw off lids.

 

Ya man, those were the days when doing an oil change was a pita. Having to jam that oil spout into the metal can was almost a gaurantee to spill some oil. The only "hot rod" filter to use was Fram. Hmmm...

 

Yup those things always made a mess... and leaked!

 

You kids just don't appreciate the old days. When I was young, we had to go kill us a dinosaur and then compost it and make our own oil. Now THAT was messy.
