My coolant tank has 2 big holes in the top of it. I got a replacement, but couldn't locate a how-to. Having said that, I know it's just a few bolts. Do I need to drain anything? What precautions should I need before I disconnect the hose and the tank?

Two bolts top and bottom, detach the clamp on top of the Rad, and then you should be good to go, you don't need to drain anything unless your reusing the coolant.

It's a simple swap. Don't overthink it.
