HID equiped or not

hey guys i was looking to replace my fog lights and head light bulbs since on of my fog burnt out. i was looking into either philips crystalvision ultra or sylvania silvertars. but i read somewhere that maxima are equiped with hid's? from the looks of my light out put it donesnt look like my car has them. how can i chek if do. my car has salvage tittle so im thinking that when they rebuild it they dint hook the hid's back up and put in regular light bulb since it doesnt even have the oem headlight housing. thanks guys in advance.

Only headlights are equipped with HID if you have 02 and up. No OEM HID fog in any car that I know off. All 02-03 headlights have HID stock, so if yours have halogen then it's either Ebay headlights or 00-01 stock

Haha I'll save you some razing man. You have hid low beams, and regular halogen hi beams in your headlights, and the fog lights are halogen as well.

HID in the low beam. If you're replacing low beam bulbs get genuine philips bulbs.

i know that the fogs are not HID. so these phillips would be ok for my low beams?

http://www.lighting.philips.com/us_e...30&id=&lang=en

and i was thinking about sylvania silverstar for my fogs.

You need D2R Low Beam, 9005 High Beam and H3 Fog light. Post a pic of your headlights, there might be some confusion here.

9006, h3 all those would be bulb style/fitment numbers. It doesnt tell you how white or blue the light is. That would go by brand/manufacturer

You have eBay headlights so don't listen to Sylvania. Just pull out your bulb and see.

i pulled out the bulb and indeed it was a 9006 philips. it also had a code hb4. from the research ive done its suppose to be a white color but its more like yellow. couldnt find anyother marks distinguish the bulbs. any one know of a good brand that has an intense white beam?

Phillips Extreme Vision or Nighthawk then the Silvester Ultra. Other than those 3, stay with OEM.

I got gizziolion of these OEM 9006 Sylvania if you want them just pay shipping.

GoodLuck dude.

tell me about it, im guessin it was because the car was in an accident since it has a salvage tittle. today ive decided to go with an hid kit. i go to check and found out that i dont have any stock connection all the mother fudging wires are spliced together i dont know what goes where or what type of connection it originally had, this is turning out to be such a nightmare.

can anyone take a picture of the headlight wiring for an 03 max i need to know exactly what type conection they are and how many connections. i would really really appreciate it.

Ok I read the whole thread I will help you clarify everything. H1 and 9006 have the same harness plug in. Just a different shapped bulb.
So what you need to do is go to autozone and buy a nice set of 9006 silverstar ultras there bout 50$ they have awesome output and a pretty white color. But if you want the 5000k look and money isn't tight go and get a set of 9006 PIAA extreme white plus there about 79 dollars they both have about the same beam output distance but the PIAA's will be whiter. Or if your a cheap butt get some white NOKYA bulbs there super cheap and white but they are high powered and could melt the light harness.

Just my two cents I have had em all there all really bright and pretty white pretty much a $ factor but I have silverstars now in my highbeam and they shine out further than when I had HID's in there so I switched back to halogen

Yeah i was cheking out the piaa bulbs there pretty pricey just for the bulbs for 30 bucks more i can get the hid kit. I ordered a 9006 male female socket so i can clean up the mess behind the lights. Them ill see what ill go with. Are thos piaa bulbs better than an hid kit or is a matter of opinion also i apprecite the info
