Leaking Power steering fluid

I just looked at how much the pump is for the power steering... Dear sweet baby Jesus! Its like $108. That is more than my new radiator I just bought. Anybody know some other issues my car might have to make it leak power steering fluid? The hose that is closest to the motor is all covered in gunk.

There are 2 hoses that are close to the engine, the high pressure power steering hose which is like $100+ and the supply hose which is about $70. If it's the one connected to the powersteering reservoir which is your supply hose and really easy to swap out. Make sure your high pressure isn't the cause( it's the one wrapped in foam and runs from the passenger side fender between the firewall and engine closest and down to the p/s pump. Just pull the foam back a little and makes sure the hose underneath is not soaked in p/s fluid. The high pressure hose according to most members here it's easy to remove but a pain to install. If you have trouble locating what I'm referring to I can hunt down a few pics for you but there are some threads you should search for in the mean time. Keep us posted on your findings.

A PS fluid leak is most likely the high pressure hose. Very very common on our cars.

Yeah what they all said about the HPPS hose. There should be a multipage thread all about it within the first 5 or so pages.

Happy New Years:
